Monitoring IP Addresses
An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a unique address that many electronic devices use in order to identify and communicate with each other on a computer network.
Any participating network device—including routers, switches, computers, infrastructure servers (e.g., NTP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, etc.), printers, Internet fax machines, and some telephones—have their own IP address.

To monitor an IP Address in Site Watcher enter the IP Address of the Server, set the Type to 'Ping'.

To monitor an IP Address in TIM or BAM set the Type to 'Server Monitoring', the Server Type to 'Web Server', the Measure Type to 'HTTP Get', and enter the IP Address of the Web Site.

Site Watcher , Tech Infrastructure Monitor and Business Activity Monitor can all monitor IP Addresses.
